Indianapolis Colts: Jonathan Taylor will not be traded and will miss four games

Jonathan Taylor remains with the Indianapolis Colts after the roster cut. A trade did not materialise and the running back will also miss the first four games of the season.

No happy ending for Jonathan Taylor: The running back is still with the Indianapolis Colts after the deadline for the roster cuts. According to “ESPN”, the franchise did not have a convincing offer on the table from other teams for a trade.

The 24-year-old also remains on the Colts’ PUP list and will definitely miss the first four games of the season. While a trade is still possible, his value has been significantly reduced once again by missing those four games.

There had been a bit of drama between Taylor and the Colts in recent weeks. The 2021 All-Pro initially wanted a better contract, but when he didn’t get it, he demanded a trade and stayed away from Colts practice.

The Colts, however, initially refused a trade, but later surprisingly relented and gave Taylor permission to look for a trade partner. However, to no avail.

The hottest candidates for a trade were considered to be the Miami Dolphins, who also created space in their running back room at the deadline by releasing Myles Gaskin.

In the 2021 season, Taylor dominated the NFL in terms of running game, his 1,811 rushing yards were tops as were his 18 rushing touchdowns. Due to some injury problems, he was unable to match those performances last season.
