With the Hall of Fame Game, the NFL traditionally starts the new season on a sporting note. But if you wanted to be there as a spectator, you had to dig deep into your pocket.
In the cradle of football, in Canton in the US state of Ohio, the sporting season is traditionally opened. This year, the Cleveland Browns and the New York Jets faced each other.
The game ended with a 21:16 victory for the Browns. But in sporting terms, the Hall of Fame Game is usually rather irrelevant, as the most important players are spared so as not to risk injury.
The ticket prices, however, were all the more sporting: Those who wanted to be there in the cheapest category could buy tickets for a minimum of no less than 304 US dollars per ticket.
One is used to high ticket prices in the NFL. But these prices are unusual even for the NFL.
