Denver Broncos: Peyton Manning reportedly interested in joining

The future of the Denver Broncos as a franchise is to be decided in the coming months. As “CBS” reports, quarterback legend Peyton Manning could play an important role in the process.

Munich – Is Peyton Manning joining the Denver Broncos? And will the quarterback legend be actively involved?

Fans of the franchise have so far hoped in vain that Manning could also “kiss the team awake” as a co-owner or official after their joint Super Bowl victory in early 2016.

That’s because the Broncos haven’t made the playoffs since their Super Bowl 50 triumph. And they have been searching unsuccessfully for the right quarterback ever since. The team has made itself comfortable in the grey nowhere of the NFL.

Talks are said to be ongoing

Fans should now be listening closely. Because after Manning downplayed the possibility of any kind of involvement several times this year, “CBS” is now reporting that the 48-year-old is, according to unspecified sources, “very interested in a possible involvement in the franchise and in a possible role in a management position”.

He is therefore said to be in talks with some of the groups favoured as buyers of the Broncos.

“This could get pretty aggressive,” “CBS” quoted an ownership source as saying, referring to the strong interest in the Broncos.

Because, as the report also says, the sale of the franchise could go through as early as next spring. According to “Forbes”, the team from Colorado is worth around three billion dollars.
