NFL referee performance: Joey Bosa scolds and gets clear
“They’re probably back in the locker room after the game, like, ‘Ha, got that asshole. You know, yeah, got him. Fifteen yards. What a loser.’ I guarantee you that’s what they’re fucking talking back in the back.”

In the dressing room after the game, Bosa vented his frustration: “The referees must also be held accountable. If I tell them something, I have to pay $40,000. But if they get a call wrong or miss something that destroys a team’s entire season, they’re in their booth afterwards saying something like, ‘Haha, we got the ar***hole.’ Yeah, we got him, 15-yard penalty, what a loser.’ I guarantee they’re talking like that behind our backs. I’m sick of these fucking people. “
In one situation, Bosa collected a flag on the field after he loudly grumbled following a referee decision: “Obviously I don’t have to yell in that situation, but how is it fair when I’m playing my ass off and I know they’re doing something wrong and then I complain and then one of them runs right in front of my face and tells me, ‘Oh, what did you just say? What did you say?’ Like it makes me his enemy. And then he’s like, ‘Oh, he said something. Here we go.'”
Chargers out: Bosa criticizes himself and team
Besides that, Bosa wasn’t about to blame it all on the referees, saying, “We just f*cking blew it in the second half.” Still, Bosa backed criticised head coach Brandon Staley: “He got us into the playoffs against all betting odds. Despite all the injuries.”
When Bosa threw his helmet to the ground, Staley picked it up for Bosa and handed it back, whereupon Bosa threw it to the ground again. On social media, Staley was taunted for this. But Bosa clarified, “He tried to calm me down, why should this be his fault? What did he do wrong? It’s my fault. “
