For months, Bills receiver Cole Beasley has caused a stir with the posts on his Twitter channel. The 32-year-old has since deactivated the account and calls it a “release. “
Munich – There is hardly an NFL player who has caused more of a stir on social media this season than Cole Beasley.
In recent months, the Buffalo Bills wide receiver has made it clear on his Twitter account that he is not too open to a Covid vaccination. He also publicly discussed Corona and other explosive topics with teammates.
Now the 32-year-old has declared that he will no longer use the short message service until further notice. He deactivated his account a few weeks ago because it was good to “get back to where I want to be”, he explained after Sunday’s 26:11 win over the Miami Dolphins and spoke of a “liberation”.
Beasley shuts down Twitter account
Shortly after the Week 5 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, the pass receiver had shut down his Twitter profile, which Bills fans immediately took note of.
“When I got here, I stayed off social media, and then different things happened,” the 32-year-old said. “Considering the problems we’re having, I just felt like I had to take responsibility for the guys that can’t. “
All too well, however, Beasley doesn’t seem to be getting his Twitter account. “The real world is out here and not there. Most people say things there that you don’t want to hear. It’s definitely a relief and I feel like I did the right thing,” the receiver continued.
In one of his latest tweets, Beasley offered to buy fans tickets to away games after a Covid vaccination was made a prerequisite for attending the Bills’ stadium. He also addressed supporters who occasionally boo him at home games at Highmark Stadium.
In any case, his performance seems to have benefited from the social media end. Against the Dolphins he played his best game this season. Ten catches for 110 yards marked the team-best.
