Malik Harrison of the Baltimore Ravens is injured in a shooting outside a Cleveland nightclub. But head coach John Harbaugh is already giving the all-clear.
Munich – Shock for the Baltimore Ravens. Inside linebacker Malik Harrison, who the franchise selected in the 2020 draft, was shot last weekend and had to be taken to a hospital. The team said a bullet struck the 23-year-old in the left calf.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Sunday night outside a nightclub in Cleveland. Harrison had been partying there because the Ravens did not have to play a game due to their bye week.
“I don’t think it’s anything serious,” head coach John Harbaugh already gave the all-clear: “I’m optimistic he’s going to be OK.” The linebacker is expected to return to Baltimore quickly after receiving on-site medical treatment.
“I’m glad and thankful he’s OK and he’s not hurt worse. Anything can happen. It’s just a difficult situation,” Harbaugh further explained.
Harrison thanks doctors
Harrison herself took to social media to thank all the helpers and the doctors who treated her.
“Although today was very overwhelming, I’m looking forward to getting back on the football field very soon and playing the game I love to play,” the 23-year-old said.
According to a Cleveland police report obtained by the Associated Press, the NFL pro was reportedly outside the club with other people when the group spotted a person with a firearm. According to the report, those on the scene immediately fled, and then shots were fired.
It is not known whether other persons were injured.
