The Shedeur Sanders story caused quite a stir at the NFL Draft. One fan was apparently so affected that he is now suing the league.
Shedeur Sanders was considered one of the best prospects in this year’s NFL Draft. However, the truth that emerged about a week and a half ago was quite different.
Instead of being picked in the first round as originally expected, Sanders went 144th overall in the fifth round. The Cleveland Browns ended up snagging the young quarterback talent.
Sanders himself and his family – including NFL icon Deion Sanders – were visibly disappointed by the high expectations. But they weren’t the only ones struggling with Sanders’ steep fall in the draft.
One fan felt particularly hurt and has now taken extraordinary measures.
The wait for Sanders is said to have “emotionally drained” the fan so much that he is now suing the NFL for the hefty sum of $100 million.
Colorado fan complains of defamation by Shedeur Sanders
The fan is said to be a supporter from Colorado, where Sanders played college football for the Buffaloes. The lawsuit was made public on the social network “Reddit.”
In a post, “John Doe” gave more specific reasons for his allegations against the NFL. He listed several points.
Among other things, he accuses the league of damaging Sanders’ reputation through statements made during and before the draft process.

It is unclear whether the lawsuit will even be heard by the NFL. It is even more unlikely that the Reddit user will ultimately be proven right.
