NFL rumors: New York Jets interested in star cornerback

Bryon Jones (Dallas Cowboys)
The New York Jets must have their eyes on star cornerback Byron Jones. This is reported by Rich Cimini of ESPN. The 27-year-old’s contract expires with the Dallas Cowboys and it seems that the team of the new head coach Mike McCarthy will let the cornerback go. Jones has only missed one match in the past two seasons and is considered one of the best players in his position. Although he didn’t catch any interceptions for the last two seasons, his covering work was convincing. The Jets are desperately looking for a top cornerback and it would not be the first time that the team has invested heavily in the position. They brought in Darrelle Revis in 2015 (guaranteed $39 million) and Trumaine Johnson in 2018 (guaranteed $34 million).
