NFL – Dallas Cowboys: Is CeeDee Lamb on the verge of a holdout?

Is the Dallas Cowboys in trouble with CeeDee Lamb? Quite possibly the wide receiver is putting a little pressure on the franchise

When contracts of NFL stars expire, trouble is often not far away.

That’s because players want to get the best deal possible on the new working paper, and if there’s no movement in negotiations, they’re equipped with one way or another to build up some pressure.

Like a holdout, for example. A strike.

That’s what the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly threatening with CeeDee Lamb, according to the Dallas Morning News. The wide receiver is entering the fifth and final year of his rookie contract in 2024.

He is reportedly expected to miss both voluntary and mandatory sessions in the offseason.

A “hold-in” is the most likely scenario. This means that Lamb will be with the team but will not take part in training. In this way, he would avoid the fines that would be imposed in the event of a “real” holdout.

His numbers are another bargaining chip: in 2023, he led the NFL with 135 receptions and set career highs for yards (1,749) and touchdowns (12).

But Lamb took some of the drive out of the rumors on Monday. On TMZ Sports, when asked if he’ll be in Dallas next season, he said, “I’ll be in Dallas.” And what is he most looking forward to? “To winning.” Probably with the Cowboys then.
