New job for long-time Patriots star Julian Edelman: The three-time Super Bowl winner becomes a pundit on US channel “FOX Sports”.
The former NFL professional Julian Edelman is doing the same as some of his long-time colleagues and will become an NFL expert on US television. The 37-year-old signed a contract with “FOX Sports” and will be part of the two-hour kickoff programme that is broadcast on Sundays in the run-up to the first games.
In this function, Edelman takes the place of Sean Payton, who has returned to the NFL as head coach and is to lead the Denver Broncos back to old successes.
“Moving to FOX Sports is a dream come true,” Edelman said in the official announcement. “I grew up watching the NFL on FOX on Sundays, and now I’ve come full circle as an analyst for FOX NFL KICKOFF. Twelve years in this league have given me insights and opinions that I’m excited to share with the talented FOX NFL team.”
With his new employer, Edelman could rekindle his longtime professional connection with Tom Brady. The quarterback superstar has also already signed a contract with “FOX Sports,” but won’t officially join the team until next year.
Edelman played exclusively for the New England Patriots throughout his NFL career from 2009 to 2022. During this time, the wide receiver won the Super Bowl three times together with Brady. After the success in SB LIII against the Los Angeles Rams (13:3), Edelman was even named the MVP of the finals.
