The Kelce brothers run the podcast “New Heights”. There, in the latest edition, they both talk about their Free Agency experiences and Travis talks about a foolish attempt to get brother Jason to the Kansas City Chiefs

The Kelces have gone down in history as the first pair of brothers to play each other in the Super Bowl. While Travis Kelce has been under contract with the Kansas City Chiefs since 2013, Jason Kelce has been with the Philadelphia Eagles since 2011. Both have never switched franchises.

But as heard on the latest edition of their NFL podcast “New Heights”, there were poaching attempts. And as Free Agency time in the NFL shows again this season, nothing is impossible.

Travis Kelce as a negotiator: Jason Kelce as a centre with the Chiefs?

Jason Kelce on Free Agency: “What’s always interesting at a time like this for teams is players who can mediate who you have your eye on someone specific. That helps recruit somebody. “

Travis Kelce concurs with an anecdote: “Absolutely. I remember in 2015 or 2016 when our centre Rodney Hudson transferred to Oakland and we were like, what are we going to do at that position? And I was like, man … I know somebody who would be a perfect fit! So I went to John Dorsey, the general manager of the Chiefs at the time, and I said ‘John! I know a good centre’.”

Jason Kelce: “You thought of me?”

Travis: “I said to him, it’s not going to be easy to get rid of him, but I think he’s a perfect fit for us.”

Kansas City Chiefs didn’t listen to Kelce
Jason: “You wanted the Chiefs to trade for me?”

Travis: “A thousand percent! In fact, I want them to every year.”

Jason: “Well, … Not these days. You’ve got Creed Humphrey now!”

Travis: “Right. We don’t need you now. But still, there was this one moment where there was a call, a conversation about you.”

Jason: “So it almost happened!?”

Travis: “No. Not even close.”

Jason: “Cool. “
