Aaron Rodgers’ time with the Green Bay Packers could be coming to an end. Now on the “Pat McAfee Show,” the superstar talks about his future and expresses surprise at the Green Bay Packers’ approach
Is the Aaron Rodgers era with the Green Bay Packers over?
Since the final day of the NFL’s regular season and the loss to the Detroit Lions that ensured the Packers did not make the playoffs, Aaron Rodgers has “not thought much about his football future”. The 39-year-old revealed this during an appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show”.
He also stated that he would definitely not make a decision before the Super Bowl. Nevertheless, he said he was “confident” that he would make a decision “in a couple of weeks. “
There currently appear to be three options. A return to Green Bay, a trade to another team or ending his career. Rodgers did not rule out the latter, but it would be a surprising decision.
Will Rodgers go to the Raiders or Jets?
A trade to another team is said to be much more realistic. Recently, there were rumours that the Packers were already talking to other franchises to negotiate a trade. Rodgers himself also seems to have heard about it. “It sounds like there are already talks going on that I’m not a part of, which is interesting,” he explained with little enthusiasm.
Where Green Bay might trade its quarterback is not known. The Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets have been mentioned as possible suitors in recent weeks.
With eight wins and nine losses, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers narrowly missed the playoffs. With only 26 touchdowns thrown to go along with 12 interceptions and 3,695 passing yards, “A-Rod” delivered his worst season statistically since 2017 when he missed nine games with a broken collarbone.
