Did Kadarius Toney fake his injury because he didn’t want to play for the New York Giants anymore? Right after his trade to the Kansas City Chiefs, the wide receiver starts this rumor himself
Munich/New York – There is a strange suspicion surrounding the trade of Kadarius Toney. He himself is starting a rumour that his injury in recent weeks was not true.
The Kansas City Chiefs acquired the wide receiver from the New York Giants on Thursday in exchange for two 2023 draft picks – one for the 3rd round and one for the 6th round.
He made just two appearances this season before suffering a hamstring injury in Week 2 and has been out since due to injury. However, a tweet cast doubt on the veracity of that injury.
Indeed, Toney tweeted, “That joke would have been funny if I had actually been injured, still lol….. Irrelevant people don’t get updates.” The tweet was later deleted.
Kadarius Toney seems to indicate that he is not currently injured.

So was he faking his injury, or at least taking disproportionate advantage of it because he didn’t want to play for the Giants anymore?
Wide receiver Kenny Golladay, who is suffering from a knee injury and joined Toney in rehabbing on a sideline, said, “He was definitely further along health-wise than I was. If he says he was healthy, he was healthy. I can’t really judge how fit his body was.”
Toney, who was selected in the first round at No. 20 overall by the Giants in the 2021 NFL Draft, is under contract through the 2024 season. In his rookie season, he totaled 420 receiving yards in ten appearances but went without a touchdown.
