Denver Broncos: Sale of franchise could fetch record sum

The Denver Broncos are about to be sold and could set a new world record. Four groups are believed to still be in the running to buy the franchise, including one of the 20 richest people in the world.

Denver/Munich – Even before the start of the new season, the Denver Broncos could be sold.

According to “Pro Football Talk”, a record could be broken in the process, so apparently a sale value of five billion dollars is forecast. This would be a new NFL record for the sale of a franchise. So far, it stands at 2.275 billion dollars with the sale of the Carolina Panthers to David Tepper in 2018.

If the value is even significantly exceeded, it could be a new world record in the sports sector as a whole.

That has been held for a few days by Chelsea FC, which was sold for 5.22 billion dollars to a consortium around US investor Todd Boehly.

Denver Broncos: Three bidding teams still in the race

The Broncos still have four bidding teams in the race, according to “9News.com”. Among them is Rob Walton, an individual who is 19th in the ranking of the richest people in the world.

There is also a group around ex-NBA star Magic Johnson. The two other bidding teams are not publicly known so far.
