Green Bay Packers: Equanimeous St. Brown – how a conversation with Aaron Rodgers helped him

Equanimeous St. Brown is looking to improve on a recent good performance against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Ahead of the game, the wide receiver reveals how Aaron Rodgers set him up

Munich – Things are going better and better for Equanimeous St. Brown this season with the Green Bay Packers. Most recently, he drew positive attention to himself in the 31:34 at the Minnesota Vikings despite the loss.

Now there was special praise for EQ from Head Coach Matt LaFleur.

“EQ did a great job. He embraced the role, not only as a physically strong pass receiver who has strong scenes – he obviously had some explosive situations last week – but also as a member of the special teams,” La Fleur told “dpa”.

Good performance against Vikings
St. Brown was thrown to twice by quarterback Aaron Rodgers against the Vikings, catching both passes for a total of 43 yards. In addition, the wide receiver gained eleven yards with one run. He was also active for the special teams.

All in all, this was his best performance of the season. In total, he has 55 yards on five receptions – without question, these numbers can be improved. His record of eight appearances in eleven games is impressive, but in sporting terms he often plays only a supporting role. The hope: that performances like the one against the Vikings will become more frequent. St. Brown has his next chance on Sunday, when the Packers play the Los Angeles Rams.

The 25-year-old fell victim to the cut before the season. Afterwards, however, the Packers brought him back. St. Brown (“That was a tough day”) first had to let the dismissal sink in. What helped him – a conversation with Rodgers. “He told me he had my back and wanted me to stay with the team,” said St. Brown.
