Is former defensive tackle Aaron Donald set for an NFL comeback? Adam Schefter reveals Donald’s thoughts behind his workout at the Los Angeles Rams’ facility.
Rumors continue to swirl about Aaron Donald’s return to the Los Angeles Rams. And they’re getting more and more intense.
Last week, Donald completed various drills and conditioning exercises while wearing protective gear.
According to an eyewitness, the 2021 Super Bowl champion “spent about an hour on the field” performing various drills, including exercises with medicine balls, as reported by “TMZ.” Adam Schefter of “ESPN” is now shedding light on the situation.
On Monday, he clarified on the “Pat McAfee Show” how Donald’s workout came about.
Will the fire be reignited?
Donald’s reasoning behind this session: “He told the team that he wanted to go there, train, and see how he felt and how he’d react,” Schefter said.
“He wanted to experience everything that comes with being back on the football field in protective gear and see how he felt doing it,” he added.
No GPS tracker needed: Will Arnold find a new team now?
It’s unclear, however, how Donald felt about the workout. The session itself, however, does indeed suggest that he is seriously considering a comeback.
Since the Rams signed defensive end Myles Garrett last month, speculation about Donald’s return has surged again.
On March 15, 2024, after ten years with the Los Angeles Rams, Donald announced his retirement from the NFL. A little more than two years later, the defensive tackle could now be coming out of retirement.
