NFL: Green Bay Packers’ Josh Jacobs Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

Serious allegations against Josh Jacobs. The Green Bay Packers running back was arrested on Tuesday and is currently being held in custody.

Josh Jacobs has been arrested.

He faces several charges, all related to domestic violence: assault, property damage, disturbing the peace, and intimidation of a victim.

The case was triggered by a police response on May 23. Police officers were called to a reported altercation—the arrest took place three days later.

Police Chief Michael Renkas commented briefly on the case: “This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time.”

Green Bay Packers: Josh Jacobs denies all allegations

Jacobs’ attorneys issued a statement the same day. “Josh strongly denies the allegations. The case is still in the early stages of the investigation, and there is important evidence that has not yet been made public. We ask for fairness and restraint while the legal process takes its course,” the statement read.

The Packers also responded. “We are aware of the situation surrounding Josh Jacobs. As this is an ongoing legal matter, we will not comment further at this time,” the team said in a statement.

The NFL has also been informed: A league spokesperson said they were “aware of the situation” and were “in contact” with the team.

Jacobs faces six-game suspension—even without a conviction

According to NFL domestic violence policies, a player faces a suspension of at least six games without pay for a first-time violation.

However, depending on aggravating or mitigating circumstances, this can be adjusted upward or downward.

The league can suspend Jacobs regardless of the outcome of the legal proceedings. In the past, players who were found not guilty in court have still been sanctioned.
