NFL receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has shown a fighting spirit ahead of the new NFL season. The German-American is “more motivated than ever” following a disappointing 2025 season.
In the NFL, preseason training is kicking off, and players are getting in shape ahead of their teams’ official practices.
Amon-Ra St. Brown spoke about this in an interview with “ESPN” and emphasized how excited and motivated he is for the new season with the Detroit Lions.
After a disappointing year for the team, in which the 26-year-old wide receiver was still one of the bright spots, St. Brown has his sights set on the big goal with the franchise.
St. Brown is full of anticipation
“I feel like the core of the team has stayed together. Many of our best players who have been here for a long time are still here. When you have a core like ours, I think you always have a shot at the big prize. So we just have to put it all together,” he said confidently.
For him personally, training camp couldn’t have started much later: “I’m excited to get back to work. After the disappointing season, I’m more motivated than ever.”
Despite a turbulent offseason marked by the trade of running back David Montgomery to the Houston Texans and several coaching changes, St. Brown believes the franchise is still well-positioned.
Detroit is well-positioned for the 2026 season
Even though he wasn’t happy about Montgomery’s departure, he sees a successful offseason behind him: “We’ve signed a few free agents, signed a few good players, drafted a few good players, and we have the right coaches. Now we just have to bring it all together.”
They’ll have the chance to do just that starting May 27, when official training resumes in Detroit. The minicamp will be held starting June 16.
