NFL: Free agency bombshell: Maxx Crosby trade to the Baltimore Ravens falls through!

A bombshell in NFL free agency: The planned trade of Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Baltimore Ravens has fallen through. The Ravens are pulling out of the deal.

The Baltimore Ravens have pulled out of a planned trade for star defensive end Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders at short notice. The reason for this was medical concerns that arose during the mandatory medical check-up.

The Raiders confirmed this on Tuesday and are now looking for alternatives, while Crosby will remain in Las Vegas for the time being.

The deal called for the Ravens to receive Crosby in exchange for two first-round picks: the 14th pick in the upcoming draft and another first-round pick in 2027.

NFL: Trades will not become official until the new league year begins

The Raiders had already considered the trade complete, but trades in the NFL only become official once the players pass their medical examinations and the new league season begins on Wednesday at 10 p.m. German time.

ESPN reports that it was precisely this examination that raised concerns about Crosby, prompting Baltimore to back out.

The Raiders now face a difficult situation. On Tuesday evening, the team planned to discuss the next steps in a meeting. For now, they plan to get Crosby back in shape and keep him playing for Las Vegas.

NFL: Will Maxx Crosby now stay with the Las Vegas Raiders?

However, several teams have already called and expressed interest in a trade, according to the report.

It remains unclear whether the deal with the Ravens could still go through in a modified form. The Raiders have already invested heavily in free agency and would have to consider the financial consequences of a Crosby trade. Crosby’s cap hit for the upcoming season is nearly $36 million.

Crosby himself posted a 13-minute video on his social media channels on Saturday, saying goodbye to Las Vegas and expressing his excitement about the move to Baltimore: “I know there are no guarantees, but I will give everything I have to bring a title to Baltimore. I can’t wait to get to the city and meet everyone.” On Tuesday, he posted on Instagram that he was already in Baltimore.
