NFL – Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Ja’Marr Chase allegedly spat on Jalen Ramsey

Did Ja’Marr Chase spit on his opponent? That’s what Jalen Ramsey claims, who punched Chase on the field.

It was the most controversial moment of the NFL game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals: seemingly out of the blue, Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey punched Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase in the face in the final quarter.

Ramsey was immediately ejected from the field for the action.

While it remained unclear during the broadcast why Ramsey struck Chase while the two were facing each other and apparently exchanging pleasantries, Ramsey provided clarity after the Steelers’ 34-12 victory.

“He spit on me — that was it for me,” Ramsey said. “From that point on, I didn’t give a damn about football. Honestly.”

A video on the internet at least suggests that this may indeed have happened.

The whole thing is reminiscent of the first game day, when Eagles tackle Jalen Carter was ejected from the field for spitting and suspended for one game. However, the victim at the time, Dak Prescott, did not punch Carter in the face.

Chase was asked about the allegations but denied them. “I didn’t spit on anyone,” he said.
