Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins are currently in crisis. They started the season with two losses, missed the playoffs last season, and are also struggling with issues surrounding Tyreek Hill. Now they face their next tough opponent, the confident Buffalo Bills. Ahead of the matchup, Tagovailoa paid tribute to Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa praised Bills playmaker Josh Allen in the highest terms ahead of the Week 3 matchup between the AFC East rivals. If not with his arm, then with his legs – the guy can just do whatever he wants.“
”I can’t even do half of what he does in the running game… It’ll be fun to see him again and play against him,” he added.
Allen has regularly used his athleticism throughout his career to gain yards himself.
Tagovailoa tends to operate from the pocket, while Josh Allen can do both
He surpassed the 500-yard mark in six of his first seven NFL seasons. In 2024 alone, he racked up 531 rushing yards and twelve rushing touchdowns.
Tagovailoa, on the other hand, mostly operates out of the pocket for the Dolphins and has only managed 437 rushing yards in his entire career so far.
Allen is once again demonstrating his qualities as a dual-threat quarterback in the NFL this season: he has already rushed for 89 yards in the first two games.
He also completed 66.2 percent of his passes, throwing for 542 yards and two touchdowns – without an interception.
Tagovailoa, on the other hand, is still struggling at the start of the season. Although his pass completion rate is a strong 72.7 percent, he has 429 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions to his name. Miami also started the season with a 0-2 record. The statistics also clearly favor Allen in head-to-head matchups: he has won eight of nine meetings with the Bills. The next matchup is on Thursday, with kickoff at 2:15 a.m. German time on Friday.
