The NFL preseason game between the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions has been called off after a serious injury.
Scary moments in the NFL: The Detroit Lions’ preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons has been canceled after a terrifying injury to safety Morice Norris. The teammate of German star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who like most of the Lions’ top players did not play, was taken to the hospital in “stable condition.”
Norris had collided with his opponent Nathan Carter while attempting a tackle in the early stages of the final quarter, his neck being jerked violently backwards. Norris was treated on the field for 20 minutes and then taken from the arena in an ambulance. “He has feeling in all his extremities and can move them,” the Lions said.
After the game resumed, both teams let the clock run down without playing, and the game was officially suspended with about six minutes remaining.
