During a joint training session, a scuffle breaks out between the Buccaneers and Titans. Right in the middle of the melee: quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Every summer, NFL teams organize joint training sessions as part of their preparations to better prepare for the intensity of the regular season.
It’s nothing new that things get heated from time to time.
This was also the case during the joint practice between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tennessee Titans, when the two teams clashed after a tackle against Bucs running back Bucky Irving.

While quarterbacks often prefer to keep their distance in such situations, Baker Mayfield apparently didn’t back down: “I was right in the middle of it. It was fun,” he admitted in the press conference after training.
However, there was one teammate Mayfield would rather not have seen in the melee: Left tackle Tristan Wirfs, who is not training due to injury and is on crutches, got involved anyway. “He should stay on the sidelines with his crutches,” joked the quarterback.
Mayfield: “Let’s not be intimidated”
Basically, though, Mayfield didn’t seem to have a problem with the huddling: “We’re not going to be intimidated. If someone pushes you in the back late, we’re not going to back down,“ said the 30-year-old. ”We don’t start fights, we’re not stupid. But we finish them.”
In a few days, the two teams will also be able to settle the score on the field: The Buccaneers and Titans will face each other in Week 1 of the preseason.
