Patrick Mahomes advises Isaiah Likely: “Wear white shoes” – Teasing between Chiefs and Ravens after drama

After the dramatic ending to the NFL opener, the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens are teasing each other. Patrick Mahomes gives unlucky Isaiah Likely some advice

Dramatic end to an NFL game – and fiery statements afterwards! The opening game of the 2024 season between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens ended in dramatic fashion.

Five seconds before the end, a touchdown by Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely was disallowed because his foot or shoe was millimetres outside the white area of the end zone. As a result, the visitors from Baltimore lost 20:27.

After the game, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked at the press conference about the more than just close decision and asked what advice he would give Likely to avoid such a situation in the future. “Next time you just have to wear white shoes. That’s my advice to you,” the playmaker told US journalists.

Likely had been wearing black shoes, so his foot was clearly visible outside the end zone – as close as it was.

Shortly before Mahomes, Likely himself had stood at the podium and fired back despite the loss to the Chiefs, “This is probably the worst game we’ll play all year.”

He continued, “But if this is the best they have to offer … then I wish them the best of luck in the postseason.”

By the way: Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson insisted after the game that it was a touchdown despite clear TV images
