The Kansas City Chiefs are in the midst of pre-season preparations. As part of training camp, wide receiver Kadarius Toney appears to be under consideration for a new position.
Kadarius Toney only managed 169 receiving yards, 31 rushing yards and one touchdown in the past season. He also recorded several drops and a fumble. Even his important touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2023 Super Bowl cannot hide this meagre record.
The former first-round pick, who was traded from the New York Giants to the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2022-23 season, has only been able to ignite his talent on a situational basis in his NFL career to date;
A change of position could now bring a breath of fresh air to the career of Toney, who is only 25 years old.
Kadarius Toney: Soon to be a running back?
The wide receiver apparently worked out with the running backs during training camp.

In his young NFL career, Toney has been particularly impressive when he has the ball in his hands and has to pick up yards on his own.
He often let the first defender run into space with his agility. A change of position to running back could therefore certainly emphasize his strengths. However, as things stand today, he is unlikely to have the stature for the position.
He could be used much more as a receiving back out of the backfield and serve as a quick target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
