The Dallas Cowboys have been “all in” for years, but in the playoffs they were finished in the Divisional Round at the latest. Will the Cowboys continue to rely on Dak Prescott?

Dak Prescott’s contract with the Dallas Cowboys expires after the coming season and the quarterback would be a free agent in the spring of 2025.

The Cowboys have reached the postseason with twelve wins in each of the last three years, including two NFC East titles. However, they have just as regularly finished early, last season even in the Wild Card Round.

Do the Cowboys have doubts about Prescott? Does the franchise even have other plans at the position?

General manager Stephen Jones, son of owner Jerry Jones, confirms that the franchise still believes in Prescott.

“Absolutely. I firmly believe Dak can lead us to a title,” Jones said on Mad Dog Sports Radio. “He’s doing everything the right way. He’s the leader of this football team. He motivates everybody in the offseason. He makes everybody work out and do all the things you need to do to earn every opportunity to win a title,” Jones said.

The problem in Dallas is the difference between theory and practice. In other words, the results don’t come in crunch time.

“It’s just that sometimes football doesn’t go the way you want it to,” Jones puts it. He emphasizes that they have won twelve games three years in a row: “That’s a record when you consider what teams have achieved over a three-year period.”

He doesn’t use the all-in term coined by Jerry Jones; he chooses a comparison with basketball. “We hang on the ring of the basket. We have to grab the ball, to stick with basketball jargon, and dunk it. We hang around the hoop. We just have to get the job done. “
