Super Bowl 2025: The women behind Jalen Hurts’ success with the Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts is not only a Super Bowl champion, but also the Super Bowl MVP and the second highest-paid player in the NFL. He didn’t achieve this alone, but with the help of his personal management team, which consists of five women.

There is probably no man more in demand in the NFL world right now than Jalen Hurts.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback led his team to victory in Super Bowl 59 against the reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. He was named the game’s MVP for his performance, which included three touchdowns and nearly 300 total yards.

What makes him special is that Hurts is represented exclusively by women. Not to fulfill some quota, says the playmaker himself. “I looked for the best people and they are the best people,” he said.

But who are “they” anyway?

Nicole Lynn: From Instagram DMs to the most successful agent in the NFL

Probably the most important woman in the 26-year-old’s sporting life – aside from his mother Pamela – is Nicole Lynn. The 36-year-old handles all important matters that do not concern the sport. “I admire people who put their heads down and work hard for what they want,” Hurts said about Lynn as early as 2022.

What the Eagles quarterback, then in his third year, didn’t know at the time was that this woman would soon make him the highest-paid player in NFL history. Hurts earns $55 million a year, still second only to Dak Prescott today.

The story of their meeting is curious: “I sent him a private message on Instagram before the 2020 draft,” Lynn recalled to Sports Illustrated. “I didn’t think he would even see it.” Lynn asked if Hurts already had an agent – he said no – and the two met before agreeing to work together a short time later.

“I saw the same fire in her that burns in me,” the quarterback explained. ‘People will look down on her, overlook her. Like they did to me. We had the same vision.’ Hurts’ story is also unique: he was benched in the 2018 National Championship Game. He was used to doubts about him, he recognized himself there.

“I see so many women doing incredible jobs. Whether they’re consultants, athletes, coaches, they don’t get the recognition they deserve,” the Texas native complains. ‘I hope I can change that.’

Chantal Romain

She is also part of the Hurts team and has a wealth of experience in the media. She has worked in the NBA as a director and manager of player programs and communications, as well as for the WNBA and the G-League.

She is responsible for the quarterback’s media relations.

Shakeemah Simmons-Walker

Just like Shakeemah Simmons-Walker, who is Hurts’ press officer and also responsible for public relations. She has previously worked as a publicist at ESPN and in PR for the New York Knicks, among other things.

Rachel Everett

Rachel Everett has been at the playmaker’s side for a long time. She handles the marketing of the Eagles star.

The co-founder of ESM Sports, a “leading sports marketing and influencer agency specializing in athlete representation,” has been advising Hurts throughout his career. You could say she’s his marketing manager. For example, when Hurts appears in commercials, she’s usually behind it.

Jenna Malphrus

The female Hurts team is completed by Jenna Malphrus, who is employed as a senior client manager. Malphrus, who previously worked in sales and was recently promoted in the Hurts cosmos, works closely with Simmons-Winter and Everett in this role, taking care of marketing projects as well as partners and clients.

The quarterback speaks highly of his team. “I have a team of real fighters. They get things done. That’s exactly how I am on and off the field,” says Hurts. “We’re all working towards achieving something.”

The reward for their efforts was Super Bowl 59 and the fact that there is currently no man more in demand in the NFL than Hurts. But the evening in New Orleans is said to have been just the beginning.

His team will make sure of that.
