“I do think that played a role,” the athlete explained on the “Rich Eisen Show”. “I don’t think it should. I wish it didn’t. But I think when you go that far and you’re that close and it doesn’t work out, the emotions and the energy come up and you want to make it. You know it’s close, and you know the team will be good next year as long as everybody stays healthy. There are a lot of players returning on the offensive side. Yeah, it all plays a part,” Kelce said.

He continued, “If it was a different situation, I don’t know what the answer would be. But I think I would still be playing. “

Kelce wants to continue career

Anyway, the 2017 Super Bowl winner considers himself lucky. “Fortunately, as far as the physical part, I’m in pretty good shape for a guy going into his 13th year,” Kelce enthused.

“I’ve got some knee pain, ankle pain, this and that – but it’s mostly about the mental workload. The amount of attention you have to pay every day to do the job right.”

According to the report, the communication and study of film footage required for the game alone takes enormous effort and energy. “All of that ultimately distracts from other areas of my life in some ways. That’s when you really have to think about whether you want to do it again.”

The centre played in every game for the Philadelphia Eagles over the past eight seasons. He was named All-Pro in five of the past six seasons, in addition to being selected to the Pro Bowl six times.
