NFL – Super Bowl Halftime Show: Charlie Kirk’s group plans protest against Bad Bunny – alternative halftime show planned

Latin rapper Bad Bunny will perform at the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show in Santa Clara. However, the announcement has not been met with only positive reactions in the US.
Turning Point USA, the right-wing organization founded by the late influencer Charlie Kirk, announced that it will offer a separate halftime show for Super Bowl LX next year.

“The All American Halftime Show” is intended to serve as an alternative to the regular halftime show, which will be performed by three-time Grammy winner Bad Bunny on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

However, the Puerto Rican superstar, who has become one of the world’s most popular musicians since his musical debut in 2016, is not met with enthusiasm by some NFL fans.

For this reason, Turning Point USA is putting together a group of musicians for the show, but the acts will be announced at a later date.

Bad Bunny cancels tour dates in the US

Government officials began commenting on the Puerto Rican artist’s Spanish-language music and his recent statements about skipping the US on his latest tour due to fears that his fans might encounter ICE officials.

Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security, stated that immigration authorities would be present “everywhere” at the Super Bowl because, in her view, only “law-abiding Americans who love this country” should attend the game.

House Speaker Mike Johnson called the booking of Bad Bunny a “terrible decision” and suggested that Lee Greenwood would attract a “broader audience.” Even Donald Trump called the choice of Bad Bunny “absolutely ridiculous,” although he admitted, “I’ve never heard of him.”

On the website for the upcoming performance, fans can fill out a form to suggest specific music genres for the show. The options listed are All in English, Americana, Classic Rock, Country, Hip-Hop, Pop, and Worship.
