NFL: Super Bowl 2028 – final location has been determined – already the fourth time

The team owners of the NFL have agreed on a venue for Super Bowl 2028: the final will take place in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the home of the Atlanta Falcons.

The Super Bowl will return to Atlanta again in 2028.

NFL team owners voted to hold the final at the Falcons’ home ground at Tuesday’s annual fall meeting of the league.

It will be the fourth time that the duel for the title has been held in Atlanta and the second time overall in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where the New England Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams in 2019.

“It is a great honor for the city of Atlanta and the state of Georgia to be selected to host Super Bowl LXII,” said Falcons owner Arthur M. Blank.

And further: “Mercedes-Benz Stadium was built to host the world’s greatest sporting events, and I know I speak for many when I say we are honored to bring it back to Atlanta in 2028 and build on the success of Super Bowl 53 in 2019,” Blank said.

The first two Super Bowls held in Atlanta were in 1994 and 2000 at the now-demolished Georgia Dome. This season, New Orleans will host the game. After that, it will move to California for two years, with San Francisco hosting in 2026 and Los Angeles in 2027.
