In the NFL 32 teams fight for 14 playoff spots. The Wild Card Round, Divisional Playoffs and Championship Games will then determine the Super Bowl participants. Super Bowl 57 will take place on February 12, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona.
Munich – The Super Bowl Champion 2023 is being sought. The two best teams of the NFL season will face each other in the final in Los Angeles on 12 February 2023.
These will be determined via the playoffs. The teams have to survive the Wild Card, Divisional Round and Championship Games to reach the grand final for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
The play-off participants are determined by the 18 match days of the Regular Season.
AFC and NFC: How is the NFL divided?
The competitive structure of the NFL is based on the division into two conferences, the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC).
Both are divided into four divisions. In the regular season, a total of 32 teams from eight divisions compete for a place in the playoffs. Each team plays 17 games and has one game day off.
Both conferences hold their own playoffs. In each conference, seven teams qualify and are placed in a seeded list based on their record in the regular season.
The four division champions are seeded in the playoffs. The division winner with the best record is seeded 1 (current NFC: Eagles, AFC: Bills), the division winner with the worst record is seeded 4 (NFC: 49ers, AFC: Ravens).
In addition, the three teams with the best record in the regular season that did not finish first in a division are seeded. The team with the best record is seeded 5th (NFC: Cowboys, AFC: Jets), the team with the worst record 7th (NFC: Packers, AFC: Chargers). This means that the seven most successful teams in a conference may not automatically make the playoffs.
In the case of an equal win-loss record, various criteria decide the allocation of places – from the direct comparison to the conference record to the strength of schedule.

NFC: 1 Eagles (5-0), 2 Vikings (4-1), 3 Buccaneers (3-2), 4 49ers (3-2), 5 Cowboys (4-1), 6 Giants (4-1), 7 Packers (3-2)
