On Sunday, Super Bowl triumph in New Orleans, since Tuesday head coach in New Orleans: Kellen Moore is to lead the Saints back to success in the NFL.

As the franchise announced on Tuesday, the former offensive coordinator of the newly crowned NFL champions Philadelphia Eagles will be the new head coach of the 2010 Super Bowl winners.

“During the search process, it became clear that Kellen is the right person to help us restore the successful program and culture that our fans are accustomed to and expect,” said team owner Gayle Benson.

Moore, 36, who spent six seasons as a quarterback in the NFL (Detroit, Dallas), played a major role in the Eagles’ strong season, which culminated in Philadelphia’s 40-22 win in the Super Bowl against the defending Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

The Saints won just five of their 17 games last season and missed the playoffs, as they have done in each of the past three seasons. This is Moore’s first stint as head coach.
