NFL: Frank Gore eyes comeback for Super Bowl contender

Despite his upcoming boxing match against former NBA star Deron Williams, running back Frank Gore can envision a return to the NFL.

Munich – Frank Gore doesn’t seem to have enough of football yet.

Although the 38-year-old will soon step into the boxing ring, the future Hall of Famer would also return to the NFL once more – at least under the right circumstances.

Despite his impressive career spanning 15 years, the five-time Pro Bowler has so far been denied a Super Bowl victory. He would therefore be up for such an opportunity once again.

Gore wants a ring

Telling “TMZ Sports Tuesday,” Gore explained, “I might get another call from a team that could go all the way to the Super Bowl. That’s when I might say ‘screw it’ and join. I don’t know yet.”

The running back would still be eligible to play this season. But Gore’s family, above all, plays a crucial role in the decision about a comeback. “I missed my kids,” the running back said of the past few months at training camps.

Most of all, he would love to be present at his kids’ games, he explained, “They’re playing at a good level and they’ve really got it.”

Boxing match in December

His next date, however, is on a completely different terrain for now. On December 18, Gore will step into the boxing ring against former NBA pro Deron Williams. The show fight will take place ahead of the fight between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury and is scheduled to go four rounds.

If Gore were to actually set foot on a football field in the NFL again after this, he would set another new record at the same time: To date, there has been no running back in league history to record a run attempt at age 38.
