Report: “Bad blood” between Ben Roethlisberger and Pittsburgh Steelers

Was the end of Ben Roethlisberger’s career consensual or was “Big Ben” presented with a fait accompli by the Pittsburgh Steelers when he retired? This is currently the subject of heated debate.

Munich – For 18 years, Ben Roethlisberger shaped an NFL era with the Pittsburgh Steelers. But now, just a few months after the quarterback’s career ended, there is reportedly trouble between “Big Ben” and the Steelers. At least that’s what sports reporter Gerry Dulac of the “Pittsburgh Post-Gazette” claims. Asked if there was any bad blood because of the nature of the parting, Dulac said, “I think you can assume that with a very high degree of certainty.”

The supposed problem: Roethlisberger would not have been able to decide on his own about ending his career with the Steelers, but had more or less been forced to end his career in view of the squad planning. the franchise before a fait accompli.

The NBC blog “ProFootball Talk” speculates that the Steelers tried to persuade Roethlisberger to opt out of the contract by offering him a deliberately lower salary.
