Just weeks after being traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the Denver Broncos, Russell Wilson has already established himself as a leader. His teammates are excited about the quarterback.
Munich – Russell Wilson has only been the quarterback of the Denver Broncos for a few weeks, yet he has already established himself as the leader of the team – his teammates have confirmed that.
Wide receiver Courtland Sutton, for example, explained in an “ESPN” interview that the signal caller has been calling him regularly via FaceTime to discuss what the two will do together on the field.
“His knowledge of the game is on another level,” the pass receiver explained, “It comes so easy to him that he wants everyone around him to understand it the way he understands it. Everyone understands that we have to work at a different level, a different standard. “
Wilson direct leader at Seahawks
But the playmaker doesn’t just make contact with his offensive teammates.
“A couple days after we found out Russ was going to be our quarterback, he contacted me via FaceTime,” explained safety Justin Simmons. “He just expressed his excitement…I then said, ‘We’re the ones who are excited.'”
And the longtime Seahawks pro was also directly involved in player acquisition. Immediately after his arrival, he tried to convince Randy Gregory to leave the Dallas Cowboys.
“I don’t know if it was eight times, but he approached me a lot,” the defensive end recalled. “The first night I was afraid to answer him because I was very rattled by the whole situation. The next morning I woke up and the first text I saw was from him again.”
A persistent manner that was crowned with success. Gregory left the Cowboys and joined the Broncos.
