Tom Brady had a day to forget against the San Francisco 49ers. But he experienced the biggest ignominy after the game when he had to sign a ball intercepted by 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw. Afterwards, however, the “GOAT” was able to joke about it.
Munich – As if the 7:35 loss to the San Francisco 49ers wasn’t tough enough, Tom Brady had to show some real sportsmanship after the game.
Dre Greenlaw, linebacker of the San Francisco 49ers came up to Brady. In his hand was the ball he had intercepted earlier in the game. To make matters worse, Greenlaw wanted an autograph on that very ball – which he got.
As Brady revealed in the “Let’s Go!” podcast, it “just felt like crap” at that moment.
“It was really bad. But I’m trying to be a gentleman. He made a great play. I’m glad he got the ball. I just wish I never threw it. But I want to be a good sportsman,” added the 45-year-old, already able to laugh again.
“I can be a really bad sport, but when it comes down to it, I’m a good guy,” Brady continued.
In the end, it was probably just one of many interceptions in Brady’s long career. Dre Greenlaw might think differently. And maybe he’ll rub it in the face of teammate Tashaun Gipson, who also caught an interception from Brady but didn’t get a signature.
