The Los Angeles Rams are tinkering with the team that should win the Super Bowl again in the 2022 season. Superstar Aaron Donald is firmly on the minds of those in charge.
Munich – The Los Angeles Rams team for the “Mission Title Defence” continues to take shape. Defensive superstar Aaron Donald is expected to be an integral part of the team that will once again be in the hunt for the Super Bowl.
After the Super Bowl triumph against the Cincinnati Bengals, there were rumours that he might end his career or take a break, but that no longer seems to be an issue. That’s because, as Rams GM Les Snead revealed on Tuesday, they are working on their future together, with talks ongoing with the Donald camp.
Aaron Donald wants back
“Aaron has expressed to us that he would like to return, he would definitely like to continue trying to do special things, not only as a player but also with the team,” Snead said.
Donald’s contract runs until 2024, however, he provides a cap hit of $26.75 million in 2022.
The trick now, as it was with quarterback Matthew Stafford’s contract extension, is to keep the player happy while also remaining manageable in terms of cap space. To bring back free agents like Odell Beckham Jr, for example. Donald is therefore also likely to get a new working paper.
“We’re trying to find a solution where there’s a ‘win-win solution’ to reward Aaron but also to continue to compete at the highest level as a team,” Snead said. “We are on our way there. “
