St. Brown extends series of touchdowns – Lions dominate

The Detroit Lions and their strong football star Amon-Ra St. Brown continue to be unstoppable in the NFL. The team around the German-American literally steamrolled the Jacksonville Jaguars 52-6 on Sunday, giving Detroit their eighth straight win in the US professional league. Wide receiver St. Brown has scored at least one touchdown in each of these victories, and against Jacksonville he scored twice for the first time this season. The 25-year-old only went without a touchdown in the first two games.

St. Brown caught 11 of 11 passes for 161 yards – a personal best in the NFL. On the first touchdown, the pass receiver ran unimpeded into the end zone after a short pass from Jared Goff to make it 27:3. On the second, he caught the ball after a Goff pass to make it 48:6 in the end zone. Quarterback Goff threw a total of four touchdown passes. St. Brown already has nine touchdowns, his previous best was ten. Detroit solidified its lead in the NFC North with 9-1 wins. The Minnesota Vikings (8-2), who are hot on their heels, won 23-13 at the Tennessee Titans.

The fans saw far less excitement than in Detroit in the top game of the AFC North between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens. Russell Wilson led the Steelers to an 18-16 win for their eighth victory in ten games, the quarterback’s fourth win in his fourth game. Pittsburgh scored with six field goals, but did not score a touchdown. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had a very bad day.
