Even after the conclusion of the NFL investigation into the Washington Commanders, former employees are speaking out about poor conditions in the workplace. Tiffani Johnston is now accusing owner Daniel Snyder of sexual harassment.
Washington/Munich – Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder is facing new allegations of sexual harassment.
Even months after the first allegations came to light, a former employee now testified before a committee in the US House of Representatives. Tiffani Johnston accuses the 57-year-old of groping her under the table during a business lunch.
NFL announces new investigation
Johnston, who was employed by the franchise as a marketing and events coordinator, stated that she was “strategically” placed next to Snyder “not to discuss business, but to allow him to put his hand on my thigh under the table.”
In addition, he allegedly pushed her “aggressively” into his limousine. According to the report, it went on until Snyder’s lawyer intervened and broke up the situation saying “Dan, this is a bad idea”. The incident is said to have occurred in 2005 or 2006.
The allegations were not part of an investigation conducted by the NFL over a ten-month period, at the end of which a record fine of ten million US dollars was imposed. Fearing revenge action by the franchise, Johnston had kept quiet at the time.
However, since the investigations were “swept under the carpet”, she and her husband decided to go public after all.
The NFL announced its intention to re-examine Johnston’s allegations.
Snyder calls allegations “lies “
Snyder, meanwhile, is fighting back against the new allegations, declaring in a statement: “While the team’s past behaviour has been unacceptable, the allegations made against me personally in today’s round of talks – many of which are well over 13 years old – are simply lies.”
He denied “unequivocally, at any time and in relation to any person, having been involved in such conduct. “
