Wide receiver D. K. Metcalf is at Seattle Seahawks training camp, but is not participating in the sessions. The reason for this is the pending extension of his contract. Head coach Pete Carroll has no news to report in this regard.
Munich/Seattle – Wide receiver D. K. Metcalf wants to get paid for his above-average skills and has been waiting for a contract extension for quite some time.
As a result, the 24-year-old is now in the training camp of his Seattle Seahawks, but is not participating in the practices.
The pass receiver already skipped the mandatory minicamp last month for the same reason.
Seahawks: No news in contract talks with Metcalf
Head coach Pete Carroll told members of the media on Wednesday about the unresolved situation surrounding the receiver, who has since recovered from his foot injury.
The 70-year-old doesn’t believe the issue will be resolved quickly, however.
“We are working on it. I don’t have any news for you,” Carroll is quoted as saying by “ESPN”, adding, “There’s a lot of work being done right now.”
Last season, Metcalf recorded 75 receptions for 967 yards as well as twelve touchdowns and formed a red-hot receiver duo with Tyler Lockett.
