Seattle Seahawks: Teammates safe – Russell Wilson gave up last season

With the trade to the Denver Broncos, Russell Wilson draws a clear line under his successful time in Seattle. However, according to one report, the quarterback more or less resigned last season.

Seattle/Munich – “Seattle, I love you”. Russell Wilson spoke out with these words about a day after the mega-trade was announced.

The 33-year-old is venturing a new start with the Denver Broncos and leaving his successful time with the Seahawks behind.

However, Wilson may have already decided during the course of last season that it would no longer be possible for him to continue under the leadership of Head Coach Pete Carroll.

Statistics speak for Russell Wilson

According to “The Athletic”, some of his teammates were under the impression Wilson had given up on last season early. The quarterback no longer met his requirements as the team’s leader and thus let the team down, they say.

In purely statistical terms, however, Wilson delivered in the final phase of the season. In total, he threw for 3,113 yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions in 14 games.
