The Seattle Seahawks grab a new wide receiver with Marquise Goodwin. The signing of the former 49ers pro has head coach Pete Carroll especially excited.
Munich – The Seattle Seahawks signed a new wide receiver this week in Marquise Goodwin.
Head coach Pete Carroll is excited about the signing of the pass receiver, who most recently played for the Chicago Bears. “I’m always excited when someone brings something unique, and this guy is historically very, very fast,” Carroll said in an interview with USA Today.
“We’ve played against him, so we have respect for him. We were really serious about drafting him at the time, so we’re glad we did. “

The receiver was a track star in college and competed in the 2012 Olympics as a long jumper before being drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 2013.
Most notably during Goodwin’s time with the San Francisco 49ers, for whom he played from 2017 to 2019, Carroll had plenty of opportunity as a coach of a division rival to see his rookie’s abilities for himself.
With the departure of Russell Wilson, it’s still not clear for the Seahawks which quarterback will be throwing passes next season. But with the presence of DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, there should at least be opportunities for Goodwin to play off his speed on 1-on-1 passes.
