Seattle Seahawks – Geno Smith is self-critical: “Plays too risky”.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith recorded two interceptions in the 24-30 loss to the Carolina Panthers. In an interview, the 32-year-old criticised his own style of play – and wants to get back to where he started the season.

Munich – Quarterback Geno Smith is one of the high-flyers of the current season. The 32-year-old secured the starting job with the Seattle Seahawks in the offseason and has since recommended himself as a potential long-term solution.

Against the Carolina Panthers, however, the high-flying team ran into some turbulence. Smith threw two interceptions, several other balls sailed far past receivers or towards the Panthers’ defensive backs.

Over the last three games, Smith recorded eight touchdowns, but also a total of four interceptions. He also suffered two fumbles.

NFL: Geno Smith looking to build on past performances

The former second-round pick was self-critical in an interview with the Seattle Times: “I’ve been playing too risky lately. I have to get back to my performance at the beginning of the season. Back then, I was playing more wait-and-see and seeing what passes the defense would let me make. “

On the 15th day of play, Smith and the Seahawks will face a real test. The “Hawks” welcome the San Francisco 49ers for a trend-setting division duel. A win for the Seahawks would keep the title race in the NFC West open. Head coach Pete Carroll’s team currently has a 7-6 record, while the 49ers are 9-4.
