Season over for “EQ” St. Brown in the NFL

German-American professional football player Equanimeous St. Brown (28) has been injured and will not play for the San Francisco 49ers in the upcoming NFL season. On Friday, the franchise announced that the wide receiver had been placed on the injured reserve list to make room for quarterback Tanner Mordecai.

The move to injured reserve means the season is over for the pass receiver. “EQ,” the three-year-older brother of Detroit Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown, reportedly injured his foot in practice on Thursday.

For St. Brown, the 49ers, his fourth NFL stop after the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, and New Orleans Saints, remain a bitter chapter: After San Francisco released him nine days after signing him, the team brought him back on Tuesday. St. Brown was given a one-year contract and is now not on the 53-man roster for the regular season.
