Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants has been spotted back in the Giants’ training rooms after an apparently false positive test. So the running back could be an option for Week 9 after all.
Munich/New York – Good news for the New York Giants: Saquon Barkley has apparently tested false positive.
As NFL insider Mike Garafolo reports, the superstar was spotted at the Giants training facility on Friday. In addition, the running back was taken off the COVID list, which he was only placed on Thursday.
That would allow him to return to practice.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley is back in the facility this morning, sources say. Further testing revealed a false positive COVID-19 test. Now, about that injured ankle…

An option for the weekend ?
Whether Barkley can play this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders for the first time since Game 5, however, is in doubt.
For the running back, who recently missed three games with an ankle injury, it would be the first time he’s been able to practice with the team since the injury.
Should Barkley miss Sunday’s game, it would be the 21st game he has missed since the start of the 2019 NFL season. Barkley was drafted second overall by the Giants in 2018.
