According to the San Jose Police Department, defensive lineman Charles Omenihu was arrested on Monday on suspicion of domestic violence.
The 25-year-old was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail and released after posting bail. A restraining order was also issued against Omenihu.
Police reportedly arrived at a residence at 4:39 p.m. local time after a woman made a 911 call reporting that Omenihu was her boyfriend and had pushed her to the ground during an argument. The woman suffered no apparent injuries but complained of pain in her arm and refused medical treatment, police said.

The case will be referred to the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office for possible prosecution, according to the statement.
“We are aware of the matter involving Charles Omenihu and are in the process of gathering more information,” the 49ers said in a statement.
Omenihu is a key component of the team’s D-line and has posted 4.5 sacks so far this season. He excelled in the Wild Card Round with two sacks and a forced fumble in a 41-23 win over the Seattle Seahawks. In the 19-12 Divisional Round win over the Dallas Cowboys, Omenihu totaled 15 snaps.
