Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has signed a new contract with the Green Bay Packers from the US Football League NFL as announced.

Munich (SID) – Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has signed a new contract with the Green Bay Packers of the US Football League NFL as announced. The highly complicated agreement guarantees the 38-year-old playmaker a salary of 150 million dollars (136.55 million euros) for the next three years.

Rodgers thus becomes the highest-paid player in the NFL in terms of annual income. The record was previously held by quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Kansas City Chiefs pay him 45 million dollars annually. In third place is Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills (43 million), another quarterback.

Rodgers was originally still under contract with the Packers for the coming season. The new agreement is actually for another four years in order to limit the impact on the salary cap. For this reason, the guaranteed salary for the next three years will also be paid out almost entirely as a bonus.
