Munich – Effortlessly into the semifinals: Devon Allen, wide receiver of the Philadelphia Eagles, has qualified for the semifinals of the 110 metres hurdles as a hurdler at the World Championships in Athletics in Eugene, Oregon.
On Saturday night, the 27-year-old sprinted into the semifinals as the fastest in his heat with a time of 13.47 seconds.
Hurdles finals on Monday night
Now it’s all about qualifying for the finals for the Eagles’ NFL player in the semifinals on Sunday night.
His goal in the final is clear: the gold medal. After all, the hurdles sprinter has already competed twice at the Olympics, has run the third-fastest time in the history of the 110 metres hurdles and is therefore also a clear contender for the world title.
Allen’s competition comes from within his own country
Allen’s biggest rivals for the gold medal include fellow countrymen Trey Cunningham, Daniel Roberts and Grant Holloway.
