What a bitter evening for the Philadelphia Eagles: both quarterbacks were injured in the loss to the Washington Commanders.
The Philadelphia Eagles squandered a 28-14 lead before the final quarter against the Washington Commanders on Sunday and lost 33-36. As a result, the Eagles (12-3) missed out on securing the NFC East title early.
Even worse, two quarterbacks, Jalen Hurts and Kenny Pickett, were injured.
Hurts was hit hard by two Commanders defenders in the first quarter, causing him to hit the ground hard with his head.
With suspected concussion, he went to the medical tent and was taken out of the game shortly afterward.
The 26-year-old was replaced by Pickett, who injured his ribs during a tackle towards the end of the game. After the game, he told journalists that he had been X-rayed and that further tests would have to show the severity of the injury.
Tanner McKee is quarterback number three
With Mit Hurts in the concussion protocol and a possibly injured backup, the Eagles are slowly running out of quarterbacks.
Tanner McKee, the sixth-round pick from 2023, has never played in the NFL.
The Eagles face the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday.
