The Washington Commanders have unveiled a new set of jerseys – a reminder of the franchise’s glory days.
Preparations for the upcoming NFL season are in full swing, with training camps just around the corner. The Washington Commanders players have a new set of jerseys to look forward to.
According to the franchise, the Commanders will wear their alternate jerseys on the ninth, 13th, and 17th game days.
Under the name “Super Bowl Era,” the players will wear white jerseys with red pants. The players’ numbers and names will also be in red, with the numbers additionally outlined in gold.
The jersey set is intended to pay homage to successful times.
NFL: Commanders with retro look
Washington celebrated its greatest sporting successes in the NFL in a similar look. Washington won the Super Bowls in 1982 (XVII), 1987 (XXII) and 1991 (XXVI).

“History doesn’t disappear, it fuels the future,” the Commanders wrote on social media.
The Commanders will initially wear the retro look against the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, and Dallas Cowboys.
